At Hinterland, we put a huge emphasis on the quality of audio in our experiences. We believe that audio accounts for at least half of what makes The Long Dark work for our players. You also need to have a well-developed sense of how to create compelling gameplay speech systems and memorable player experiences.

You will collaborate closely with a cross-disciplinary team of artists, animators, programmers, and designers, and will be expected to document, prototype, implement, and iterate on your work based on feedback from the Audio Director, playtesters, and other members of the development team.

You should have experience using Wwise, and making games in Unity. We are looking for a senior level audio designer, so please have 5 years of experience contributing to the design and implementation of audio content, preferably on shipped, award-winning triple-A or “indie” titles.

This is a full-time salaried position in our Vancouver (Gastown) studio. We’re able to provide relocation assistance for the right candidate, including immigration support, although we will give preference to candidates who are legally permitted to work in Canada.
