We want to add a full-stack web developer to the team at Hinterland.
In this role you'll be maintaining our current group of Hinterland websites, as well as creating new sites in support of our growing team and future projects. These new sites could include community portals in support of The Long Dark, ecommerce storefronts, and other web properties in support of the game and its community.
In addition, you'll be comfortable taking responsibility for build machines, server setup, as well as general IT tasks as they come up. Hinterland is a small, but growing studio, and we are on the lookout for candidates who are comfortable wearing multiple hats.
As a Hinterland web developer, you'll be up-to-date with current UX trends, have design experience and pixel-perfect attention to detail, and be comfortable working collaboratively with others. You're resourceful and creative when solving problems, but you also have a good eye for simple solutions.
This position is located in our downtown Vancouver, BC studio. Please note — for this role we are looking to add an individual developer to Hinterland, not partner with existing web development agencies or teams.
If you’d like to join us in creating something unique and special - and you have the qualities and qualifications outlined herein - please send us a cover letter telling us a little about yourself and why you’d like to join our team, along with a CV and/or LinkedIn profile that includes links to current examples of your work. Please send it to email@example.com with a clear, but inspired, subject heading.
Hinterland is an equal-opportunity employer. The studio is comprised of a multi-national, multi-ethnic team. We value a diversity of backgrounds. We also value veteran experience and a strong work ethic that supports the studio’s culture and values. Our work ethic and production methodology is built around a “Getting Shit Done” paradigm. We embrace a flexible working environment that affords our team members the opportunity to enjoy family time and exercise self-care. We balance this out with very high expectations about the quality of output from everyone on the team. We offer a variety of perks, but do not believe perks are the same thing as culture.
(Also, everyone who joins our team gets a pair of slippers. They are nice slippers.)
