We’re looking to add a talented Intermediate QA Tester to the development team creating The Long Dark. This is not an entry level position.
As the ideal candidate, you will have experience shipping multiple titles across different platforms – ideally PC and Xbox One. You must be able to work onsite in Vancouver, have the desire to own your work, and possess great communication skills allowing you to work efficiently with team members both on and offsite. Familiarity with Unity is an asset and experience with bug tracking databases is a must. This will initially be for a 4 month contract with the possibility of an extension.
As an Intermediate Tester, you will be expected to work onsite in a fast-paced environment providing support for in-development features as well as public-facing Early Access builds and Users. You will be required to work on multiple platforms, balance tasks, and work independently when needed. You will be expected to be familiar with Unity, Jira, and proficient in general testing methods and terms. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running. Communication is key as you will work with team members both local and remote, be required to deliver test reports, and take direction from the Test Lead.
Your main day-to-day task will be to support development through great testing and communication. You will be expected to provide both general day-to-day testing as well as provide feature support and test ownership for assigned areas. While your work will focus on testing you will also be asked to provide feedback and reports on balance, performance, and play experience. You will be required to ask questions, review spec docs, and interact with the team to ensure the feature is tested successfully
If you think you’d like to be part of creating something special with us, and you have the qualifications and qualities outlined herein, please send us a letter outlining why you think we should interview you, along with your CV and/or LinkedIn profile. Please send it to email@example.com, with an obvious, but inspired, subject heading.
Hinterland is an equal-opportunity employer. The studio is comprised of a multi-national, multi-ethnic team. We value a diversity of backgrounds. We also value veteran experience and a strong work ethic that supports the studio’s culture and values. Our work ethic and production methodology is built around a “Getting Shit Done” paradigm. We embrace a flexible working environment that affords our team members the opportunity to enjoy family time and exercise self-care. We balance this out with very high expectations about the quality of output from everyone on the team. We offer a variety of perks, but do not believe perks are the same thing as culture.
